Effective August 1st the Department of Homeland Security and the TSA have implemented 100% cargo screening. This new policy mandates that each and every item we handle must be screened prior to being loaded onto the aircraft. In order to minimize any delay time, Hawaii Air Cargo has invested in new technology to screen packages and to keep freight moving and maintain the same level of service and turn-around time that our customers have come to expect. In order to cover the cost having to purchase the new equipment and the additional man-hours needed to implement these procedures Hawaii Air Cargo will increase its security fee by 2 cents, effect August 1, 2010.
